That she would share such pearls of wisdom with others is a true example of the depth of her love & dedication to canines.

After reading this book, I put to use what I learned. It's not difficult, the concepts are simple. I am now able to calm my own dogs when they become nervous or anxious; read what they are communicating to each other as well as humans (me or others) and know when a situation is possibly or potentially explosive. I also learned that my own pets were using this language to tell me how much they loved/have deep affection and trust in me. That alone was worth the book price; To know the moment they are communicating their love and bond to me.

Buy this book if you want to deepen and enrich your love, bond and understanding of your companion. It's priceless.

Excellent source of pictures for reading dog body language -
I am a dog trainer and it is always handy knowing how to read dogs body language. This book takes the quess work out of it! I have one class that is a group play time, pet parents are aprehensive about taking their dog to the dog park and want an alternative. Now I can help these pet parents read their dogs body language as well as the dogs their dog is playing with!

another great Nicole Wilde book! -
I have become a fan of Nicole Wilde and have several of her books on dogs and dog training. This book doesn't disappoint. Nicole gives clear observations on what your dog is feeling and how to approach the problems and help your dog overcome his/her fears and what may cause them.
She obviously loves dogs and it shows in her books. I would definitely recommend this book for any dog owner - especially if you adopted from a rescue or shelter to help understand the dog's reactions.

Book received promptly and in excellent condition. I found the contents easy to read and the pictures very illustrative of the points the author was describing. All in all a very useful tool to any potential dog trainer or owner.

"Your dog is talking to you all the time" -
The author of this book states that "your dog is talking to you **all the time**". After reading it, I see that she is right. I knew some basic signals, for instance, a lifted front paw, but I was (and probably still am) missing a lot of what my dog says.

I feel bad, because I always thought my dog was kind of bratty, but now I see he is constantly making conciliatory gestures. This book is a must-have for people who are frustrated or confused about their dog's behavior.

I agree with other reviewers that the photo quality could be better and there are a bunch of typos. However, it speaks to how crucial this book is that even with these major flaws, everyone still finds it invaluable. The author has a clear and engaging style, and covers a huge amount of information. I find myself returning to the book repeatedly and I get a little more out of it each time.

I'd like to see the next edition with some color photographs and better editing. But again, a must-have for every dog lover, and worth every penny.
