This book learns you how to keep an excellent style while not spending in excessive. Written clearly and practical. Lovely to read.

Now THIS is how to write a style book! -
The market is inundated with makeover books and style manuals, but many are laden with the fluff and lacking in the matter. Kendall's book is far above the majority of these. She has specific information on body types, suitable garments for each type and tons of information on tailoring. For well-dressed women of any size, tailored, fitted clothing can be the difference between frumpy and fabulous. She also gives specific information on measuring yourself, online sources for materials and stores to fit all budgets and needs. For anyone looking to improve appearance and wardrobe, this book is a must have!

Best Fashion Book On The Market -
This is the absolute best fashion guide I have come across, and I have read a ton of them. I have skimmed through this book so many times since buying it in 2006 that it is falling apart and I'm going to buy another copy. Her tips on what you should buy to build a wardrobe that will last over time are gold. She has a couple rules that she repeats throughout the book: a wardrobe with a few standout investment pieces is worth far more than one with tons of inexpensive ones, and that fit and fabric quality really matter. Every time I have followed those rules over the past 3 years, I have purchased something that endures in my closet. Every time I've broken her rules, I end up buying something that I wear twice. The writing is also very enjoyable, her anecdotes are funny and interesting and I drool over the "indispensable shoe" section every time I read it.

The only thing that I feel is lacking in this book is a section on how to put it all together. I guess Kendall feels that if you invest in the classics, it doesn't matter what you pair it with, it will all come together. Or perhaps she is saving the "outfit creation process" for another book.

Speaking of new books from Ms. Farr, I was so excited to learn today that she is coming out with a new book for the over 40 set! This is the first time I have ever thought to myself, "I wish I was 40"... I will probably still buy it anyway and if I don't like it I will give it to my Mom (who I am sure will love it).

Pocket Stylist is a rare gem in the fashion book scene. To me, no other book has even come close to the level that Pocket Stylist is on. Purchase it, then save the money that you would have spent on other fashion books to buy a new pair of shoes.

A must have -
One of the most useful books on dressing yourself. It talks about 3 body types: apple, pear, and hourglass, helps you determine which one do you belong to, gives you an idea of what type of clothes would look good on you, emphasize your best features and conceal your worst... Also it will teach you how to take your measurements correctly, where to buy clothes and accessories while staying within your budet, orginazing your closet and much more.

In addition to 3 body types, the book takes into concideration not only skinny women of these types, but also those who are bigger than average. Therefore, there are 6 types listed in the book: A,B,C,D, E, F. Where A is pear shape regular, B - hourglass, C - apple, and D - pear ample, E - ample hourglass, and F - ample apple shape.

The book is pretty compact in size and can be easily carried with you

Nice book. -
This book is great. It does not cover EVERYTHING there is to know but it is a great guide to get you started with your closet makeover and provides you with the basics on body type and the clothes that would fit you best. I also purchased a couple of more books (Lucky - Style guide and Secrets of Style (Style Magazine) because I wanted to see more combinations and pictures that could give me a better idea on how to match pieces. The combination of those three books is everything I need. While this book does not have tons of pictures, I keep referring back to it because its advice always makes more sense. You will not be dissapointed.
