This book is very close to my heart. It's about no-nonsense, simple cooking with great flavors all year round. When I began writing it, I didn't really know what recipes I would come up with, but something began to inspire me very quickly . . . my vegetable patch!

I came to realize last year that it's not always about looking out at the wider world for inspiration. Being at home, feeling relaxed and open, can also offer this. I love to spend time at home in the village where I grew up, working with the boss, Mother Nature, in my garden and seeing all my beautiful veggies coming out of the ground.

If you are a foodie and love to read cook books you will enjoy this one. I like the fact that Jamie belives that cooking is not an exact science and that there is lots of room in his recipes for personal interpretation and food likes and dislikes. Go out there and have some fun and cook for the ones you love.

What I like best about Jamie Oliver's latest cook book is the section he adds to each chapter about growing the vegetables he cooks with.
Not only do I find it interesting, but helpful for my own gardening.
I like the recipes very much. He brings pure and simple eating to life.

Jamie's got Flavor -
What I like about Jamie Oliver's recipes are the flavor combinations. All the fresh herbs,yogurt based sauces, attention to seasonal foods all add up to a lovely cookbook. I really feel like experimenting with lamb, or fish and other foods I don't have alot of history with. An excellent, inspiring book!

Great Book - Follows the show -
I love the show and was delighted to find the book. There are sections that highlight the garden and how to grow vegetables that are used in the recipes. I think he is an engaging writer and this book was everything I hoped it would be.

Beautiful and uncomplicated -
I just picked this book up yesterday and just from a quality stand point it is lovely. The photography is beautiful and the paper and binding are top notch. I was interested in the book because I love his show and it kind of kills to birds with one stone. Gardening Tips and recipes for the stuff you grow in one book! It's also a great read. Jamie wrote it as more of a stream of consciousness than your typical cookbook so it's actually fun to read while your not cooking too. There are 2 things I love about Jamie. 1- His love for the ingredients. If you've seen his show you know what I mean. He really respects the food and where it comes from. He makes you think about that here. 2- He keeps it simple. He is not a fussy cook and these recipes are ones you can pull off easily. He doesn't show off like some chefs, he wants you to be able to make this stuff! Even if you don't have your own garden this is still a great cookbook. If you want to make simple, fresh, rustic dishes give this book a go!
