very helpful beginning graphics book -
Step-by-step instructions on how to draw landscape graphics. Includes basic tools, lead thickness, lettering, plan view, perspective, section, plants, people, light and shadow. Arranged in chapters with stepped-up exercises for each one. Example graphics for hundreds of different trees, shrubs, grasses and plants. Well worth the price.
A graphic main stay -
Grant Reid is a master mind when it comes to pencil or pen to paper. If you are going to be doing a lot of drafting by hand, you will want this book. If you go through Reid's exercises, you will be able to draft easy to read plans that are clean, professional and beautiful.
Note: this book does not go into design itself. Simply gives you the skills to make your own designs look magnificent.

This book need to be developed as all of the examples are very basic and boring.I am a professional Landscape Architects and I have 10 years experience. I really believe that this book does not present any important information for its users.

Over the last ten years, I've recommended several landscape graphics texts to my students, and this is the one they repeatedly tell me they like. It provides a good mixture of how-to instructions and a wide variety of examples--diagrams, plans, sections, elevations and perspectives. Color rendering is not covered (I use Michael Doyle's book, but I'm sure there are other good ones).
***Students purchasing a used copy of this should check the publication date. The older version (1987) has some amusing and alarming examples--use with caution!***
