if you don't know how to sew -
book is well done, but did not have as much as I had hoped for in ideas and techniques. I've been sewing at an expert level for so many years that this was not what I was looking for. For someone who hasn't been sewing for 4 decades, this is a good guide for how to do basic reconstruction of garments.

I LOVE this Book! -
I love this book. It helps to take old worn out clothes and turn them in to new and exciting designs that are tailored to your body. There is nothing more attractive then clothing that fits. It also helps take the scraps and turn them in to accessories so that nothing is wasted. If you are an Eco lover this book will be right up your ally. It is perfect for all ages and do it together projects for bonding. It is not just for females there is lots of male ideas also, like how to hem your jeans and pants!

Sew Creative!! -
I bought this book for a creative new seamstress. It features styles appealing specifically to teens and twenty yr olds with its neat ideas for cutting and re-designing tee shirts and jeans, for example, into new shapes and funky de-constructed clothing. Jeans into skirts and pants with flouncy gores for example, and tees snipped into new shapes........The designs look easy to do and they lend themselves to be starting points for a creator's own ideas.

How to Make Raggedy Clothes Look Even Worse -
The sub-title of this book is How to Deconstruct & Reconstruct the Clothes of Your Dreams. What an inacurate description! I can't imagine anyone past puberty ever dreaming of clothes like these. I was looking for basic principles, not lessons in how to make raggedy clothes look even worse. With the author's background & sub-title I really did expect something useful.

I re-make a lot of thrift shop finds, but don't want to waste my time making something look even worse. I'm really surprised how insulted I am by this book. Surely readers deserve some designs that could be worn in public, something perhaps clever, stylish, or exhibiting imagination. I had thought I'd at least find ideas my great-granddaughters could use, but this book is going straight to the thrift shop where it belongs.

Only so so -
I found the book to be far too simple. I am by no means a pro at sewing, but most of the ideas in this book were things I had already thought of on my own. The directions were a little too vague to make the clothing appear well tailored unless you already know what you're doing.
