Since the pregnancy of my firstborn I have been reading "baby books". Can say I am addicted to them. Love many of them. Hate some. But they all seem to "drink from the same fountain" and sometimes you just don't get the answer you desperately need (or the answer is not realistic).
This book is brave enough to give many of these answers - clearly and specificaly - and some insights you usually don't find in baby books.
I highly recommend it.

As a parent educator and author myself, I am very critical of many books for parents. Betsy's book is an exception. It's fun to read, immensely practical, really helpful and best of all, empowers parents to understand how children think and what they need to hear, especially in dealing with tough topics, such as death, sickness, fears, sexuality, siblings etc. The author tackles each of these topics as well as everyday issues with an upbeat, clear and accessible style. I will be recommending it unequivocally to the parents in my talks and workshops. Great job, Betsy!

I read Betsy's book over the weekend. My kids are 6 and 9. This book came at the right time for me. The issues Betsy covers in this book seem like she wrote it just for me. It's warm, honest and PRACTICAL. You can read a section, put it down and apply her techniques to whatever parenting issues you're dealing with.
This is a MUST READ. Love it and will use it for many years to come.

I started reading this book but it wasn't what I needed so I stopped reading it after a couple pages. It might be OK if you needed advise on how to answer questions about death and etc, but I had already gone thru that time with my kids/grandkids.

Must Have 4 Every Parent -
Not even fully finished with the book and already must give it 5 stars. My husband and I love the easy to read format. We have a 17 year old from his first marriage and a new baby on the way. This book has helped us in so many ways. We baby sat a almost 4 year old boy the other day and this book came IN HANDY. With in minutes we had him listening to us and walking with us in the store. Much better then he does with his mother (he runs away all the time). We are also reading "Scream Free Parenting". I want to give both books to every parent. I say it's a must buy!
